In the early 1900s, young architect Samuel Daley Craig returned to the Shenandoah Valley from school to practice his trade of designing and building. In 1957 S. Daley Craig Jr. moved to Charlottesville to serve the expanding housing needs of the increasingly successful UVA. For the past 40+ years, Sam Craig has guided Craig Builders in the home-building market in Charlottesville and Albemarle County and has seen the Craig Builders “family” of employees grow into a tight-knit group of exceptional staff.
As a small business, Craig Builders’ primary reward is witnessing their customer's satisfaction with the entire building experience. And, each house is still built one at a time, with time-tested materials and methods.
